The Black Seeds is another reggae band from New Zealand. I guess it must be an island thing, this reggae vibe. Even if the island isn't tropical, we seem to all have that tendency towards the slow, easy movement that is reggae. I'm loving it!

Behold My Koolstyle - Dam Native

I saw Dam Native live at the Cuba St. Carnival in Wellington back in February. They are quite political and very involved in representing Maori people and the clash or issues that exist between Maori and Pakeha people in New Zealand. They are interesting to listen to. It gives you a different perspective on things.

Longtime - Salmonella Dub

These guys are pretty cool. Tiki Taane used to be part of the group. This particular song is more reggae influenced than dub, but they have other songs that are more heavily influenced by dub. Check out their other vids when you get a chance

I fell in love with Tiki Taane's music the first moment I heard it. He is quite a strange character with very different styles of music that he incorporates into his album Past, Present, Future. This video shows his Maori roots. It's haunting.
